Wandering in the streets of Brussels, you come across the most incredibly tempting windows. Bursting with chocolate, pralines, macarons and meringues.

And just look at these waffles! Absolutely impossible to resist. 😛
During our stay, we probably tried every kind of waffle in town.
Rich and fruity breakfast waffles.
Crisp, hot plain waffles.
Last, but not least, suprisingly delicious savoury waffles – LunchWAFs.
Go to the The Waffle Factory and get the Alpine LunchWAF – chicken, raclette and onion jam… just YUMMY.
All of this said and no matter how much I like waffles, nothing beats chocolate. I found heaps of it in this cute little shop – Le Comptoir de Mathilde:
Walking in we were welcomed by endless kinds of chocolate bars (the Fleur du Sel one is amazing), pralines, sweets and many more treats.
They also have a remarkable selection of make-your-own hot chocolate.
Just choose your flavour, stir into warm milk and enjoy!
Ok, I’ll have this one, this one, this one and this one.
Having filled our bags with goodies we actually managed to get a good look at the city.
Each corner in Brussels is different and art is everywhere.
Heading for the bus to the airport on our last day I fell in love.
Of all the sights, the new bloc of the Résidence Palace is my absolute number one! ❤
The perfect mix & match of materials and styles.
Of course we couldn’t miss the European Commission.
Our bus arrived just as the sun was staring to shine after a cool, breezy weekend, so it was quite hard saying goodbye – but we will be back!
